Split ends indicate that you are missing the right hair care. Although trimming the hair will resolve your problem easily, without identifying the root cause of the hair problem, you will suffer from recurrent hair breakage.
Here are some useful tips to get rid of the split ends.
Moisturize your hair
The hair shaft breaks when it is dry. Treating hair dryness is the first step in preventing as well as treating split ends. Depending upon your lifestyle and preference, choose a lubricant that traps the moisture in your hair. The hair is stripped of its natural oil every time you shampoo your hair. Use a conditioner every time you wash your hair. You can even apply a small amount of jojoba or almond oil to the hair to protect it from split ends.
Brush your hair when dry
Do not brush your hair when it is wet. The hair shafts stretch easily when wet. Excess stretching can break the hair ends. Wait until your hair is completely dry, and then gently brush or comb it. If sufficient conditioner was applied to the tresses, the comb will easily slide through the hair shafts. Hair tangles can be minimized by combing the hair thoroughly before shampooing. Although, combing disentangles your hair and keeps it attractive, excess combing can damage it. To get rid of split ends, you should resist the temptation of combing your hair too often.
Drying the hair
To prevent split ends, allow your hair to dry naturally. Blow-drying is not recommended if your hair is vulnerable to split ends. If not done with proper care, it will exacerbate hair dryness and split ends. Even towel drying can damage your hair ends if you rub or squeeze the hair shafts too harshly. The friction generated in the process will damage the hair ends, which would then break easily.
Avoid heat hair styling products
Any hair styling tool that uses heat for curling or straightening your hair damages the hair shafts, increasing the risk of hair breakage. However, this does not mean that you cannot style your hair. Use hair mousses, which are considered safer than the conventional styling products.
Trim your hair
